She explained: ‘I worked out a lot. I ran a lot. I did it six days a week. I become quite obsessive when I get into something.’
As well as running the mother-of-four stuck to a strenuous exercise regime under the guidance of celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson, whose clients include Gwyneth Paltrow, Cheryl Cole and Madonna.
Beckham also revealed how she elongates her frame with her designs, which consist of figure-hugging material and flattering cuts.
She told the magazine: ‘I’ve never been a six-foot-tall, skinny model (she is five feet four), so therefor I wanted to create an illusion. People think I’m taller than I am – not because of the shoes I wear but because of the way I dress. It’s all relatively streamlined.
It’s no surprise that new mother Beyoncé stepped out showing off her tiny waist and flat stomach in a Victoria Beckham design earlier this week.
Just like Victoria did last year the singer decided to wow fans with her amazing post-baby body just two months after giving birth in one of Beckham’s form-fitting dresses.
Big brood: Victoria revealed how the family, seen out for lunch in Santa Monica last week, all snuggle up in bed together
'Sucky-sucky dress': Victoria has described how she elongates her frame with her slimming designers, seen here on Beyonce earlier this week
Speaking about her signature style which Victoria labels her ‘sucky-sucky’ dress she notes: ‘It gives (my customers) a little waist. It’s great on the boobs, it’s great on the bottom.’
As well as revealing her workout and design secrets Victoria admits that despite being part of the one of the biggest girl bands in the world - she didn't think she was particularly talented.
Speaking of her confidence with designing she said: ‘I worked very hard, but it took a long time for me to find something to say, "Oh, I’m not bad at this." And I’ve found that with what I’m doing now.’
In the interview Victoria also reveals how she juggles being a businesswoman with being a mother to Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, nine, and Cruz, seven, as well as eight-month-old Harper.
She noted: 'I'll work early in the morning and then I'll work late at night but once England and New York go to bed, I have a little bit of time here. David and I make sure our schedules revolve around the kids. Because we are really focused on what we do workwise it allows us to be balanced.
Last weekend the whole Beckham brood enjoyed lunch together in Santa Monica - but snaps of the six-member strong family are rare given their busy schedules.
But while the whole gang might not be seen all together so much in public, Victoria revealed that at home they all climb into bed together and she said: 'They cuddle up like little peas in a pod.'
While the family are happily settled in Los Angeles with David turning down a position at a football club in Paris because the children are so happy there, Victoria showed off her British roots last night.
The 37-year-old star got busy in the kitchen to prepare food for her sons Romeo and Cruz's International Food Day at school.
After tweeting a picture of Union Jack stickers and flags, Victoria later shared a shot of the treats made for the occasion.
Pork pies, sausage rolls and cheese and pineapple on sticks sat in three large foil trays with Union Jack flags on cocktail sticks in each item.
Victoria accompanied the shot with the caption: 'Just finished cooking! Very proud to be British!! X vb.'
