You know, I used to feel sorry for Tammy Lynn Michaels, she seemed so devastated by her split with Melissa Etheridge. She kept posting poems about her heartbreak and how Melissa was leaving them peniless. Not so.
Since their split two years ago Melissa Etheridge has been paying her former girlfriend $23,000 a month in partner and child support. However Tammy Lynn Michaels has now filed papers against the rock singer which demand she receive more money, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The former actress claims her famous ex, 50, earns roughly $177,882.00 a month.
She states she grew accustomed to living an extravagant lifestyle during their long-term relationship and thus $23k a month is not enough for her to live on. Well...too bad. I mean, think of everyone who's been laid off and is now struggling to survive. Their lifestyle has changed, yet the have no one to cry to. This just really rubs me the wrong way. Sorry, but divorce changes lifestyles. It just does.
Michaels, 37, who has appeared on Popular and The L Word, apparently claims she has ‘virtually no savings’ and would need ‘extensive retraining’ if she were to attempt to get a job again. Why does she not have savings? That's poor financial planning. Don't tell me you can't live on $23 000 a month. Get a job. Any job. People do it every day to survive.
Michaels gave birth to twins via an anonymous sperm donor in 2006 and claims Etheridge is attempting to turn the five-year-olds against her, stating that they have grown emotionally distant from her.
Michaels goes on to allege that Etheridge swears in front of Johnnie and Miller and refuses to get them vaccinated.
The mudslinging is marked by a settlement conference to hash out support and custody issues, which is set to occur next month.

TMZ also reports that on top of everything else, Michaels is demanding Etheridge pay her legal bills, which allegedly total $120,000.
Etheridge and Michaels, both iconic gay rights activists in the US, had a commitment ceremony in 2003 which was featured on ABC's InStyle Celebrity Weddings.
They also registered as legal domestic partners in the state of California.
There were reports they tried to legally marry in 2008 - during the time when same-sex marriages were permitted in California - but they missed the window.
