Mindy McCready has given birth to a second son
The 36-year-old and her boyfriend David Wilson welcomed Zayne into the world on Monday.
'Zayne is truly a blessing and a joy,' said in a statement to People magazine.
'It was a long and trying pregnancy; we’re so happy he’s here. There are no words to convey how happy we are.'
The couple said they initially thought that Mindy was pregnant twins due to her size.
'At the time of the initial announcement surrounding Mindy’s pregnancy, in consideration of her size, Mindy was certain she was carrying twins,' her representation told E! News.
'A misinterpreted sonogram seemed to support her feelings and excitement.”
Last November, the embattled 36-year-old singer was found hiding in a closet with her first son Zander, six, after she took him from his legal guardian, sparking a country wide man hunt.
Later in an interview with ABC News's Andrea Canning on 20/20, she thanked her son with 'saving her life.'
Every time I wanted to let go and give in, I remember what he did for me. [I love him] more than anything. He is my little angel,' said the singer, who has attempted suicide several times.
McCready told Canning that 'everybody makes mistakes,' but she stood by taking the little boy from her mother Gayle Inge, who has had custody of him since 2007.

The multi-platinum-selling recording artist was taken into custody after stealing the boy from Inge during a recent visit to her Florida home.
The singer claimed that her son was in danger both 'physically and emotional' while living with her mother and said she was willing to go to jail to protect him.
"Do you have any idea what it is like to have one minute with him after having four and a half years without him?' McCready said of the little boy, who is currently in foster care.
'[Imagine] not being able to have one second holding him, smelling him and touching him. I'm not going to give up one minute, not for anything, not for anyone.']
The troubled country singer lost custody of her son to her parents during a substance abuse battle.

The singer today told Good Morning America that she took her son Zander as she feared for his safety.
In her first interview since a court hearing over custody rights she said she would 'not ever think that me taking my own child, that I carried for nine months, that I gave birth to in the hospital by myself would ever be breaking the law.'

'What I did was to protect my child, and there’s not a person in the world that’s going to tell me that that is wrong,' she said.
In another interview on Good Morning America, the singer claimed she was forced to take her son as she feared for his safety.
McCready is locked in a custody battle with her mother Gayle Inge.
She said she was so concerned that during a visit to her father's home in Cape Coral, Florida, she decided to take her son and leave.
'I know there are rules that are written down that we’re supposed to follow, and guidelines that we’re supposed to follow, but there’s a difference between right and wrong, and right and wrong in my opinion should come first, always,' McCready said.
Inge was appointed Zander’s guardian in 2007 while McCready served six months in prison for a probation violation related to an earlier drug charge.
McCready and her son were found cowering in a closet by police in Arkansas following a tip off.
A nationwide kidnapping alert had been issued with US Marshalls hunting for McCready and her son.
The singer said her son was terrified when a SWAT like team grabbed them last Friday.
'He was screaming, "Please don’t touch me, please don’t touch me, please don’t touch my mommy. Please, leave me alone, I want to be with my mommy,"' McCready said.
Police denied they had used any force and had a social worker with them who took Zander into their care.
McCready appeared before a judge in Arkansas and was not charged with any kidnapping offence.
After the hearing she said she was a 'happy woman' but did not go into details of the custody hearing.
Her son remains with foster parents.
